Mayo Clinic PM&R Goes “Off the Court”

By dehansen @dhansen

Listeners to the Minnesota Timberwolves Radio Network are learning about more than the latest opponent or score this season.

Mayo Clinic Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is highlighting its partnership with the Timberwolves and the recent opening of the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center at Mayo Clinic Square in downtown Minneapolis with a series of radio segments that air during the team’s game day coverage.

The segment above features Sports Medicine Center Co-Director Edward Laskowski, M.D.

He talks about the specialty of PM&R in general and how it can not only help with the rehabilitation of injuries, but how the Mayo Sports Medicine Center locations in Rochester and Minneapolis can also enhance individual performance.

Laskowski said the new Mayo Clinic Square Sports Medicine practice (located across from the Target Center in an area previously know as Block E) is “receiving universally positive feedback.”

The Timberwolves and Lynx basketball teams are currently constructing their practice courts and space at the center and that work is not expected to be completed until the summer of 2015.

Despite a “soft” opening in October, Laskowski said “the practice continues to grow and people in the Twin Cities are very excited about a Mayo Clinic presence.”
