In 2010 the Mayo Clinic Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation joined together with Southeastern Minnesota Center for Independent Living, Inc. (SEMCIL) to bring together the art displayed in the Art and Ability exhibit this year.
The art exhibit started in collaborations with Mayo Clinic Center for Humanities in Medicine who continues to support the exhibit today. The exhibit started in 2005 with 31 artists entering 31 pieces of artwork, and this year 70 artists submitted 114 pieces.
Kathryn Stolp, M.D. is the champion for this exhibit, and would like to thank Martha Seger, M.D. who provided the support to make Art & Ability possible each year, as well as the staff at SEMCIL, and jurors MaryLee lambert, Kandice Mascotti, and Bob Saxon.
